Friday brought us back to the beginning by talking about treading lightly on the earth. The students got an explanation of the composting project, and got to see some compost in the making as Barb brought along some of the compost buckets. We then took some of the finished compost and put it on the garden that they created on Monday and then covered the garden with mulch. We spent some of the morning creating the stepping stone that went into garden. All of the kids put the mosaic tiles around the edge, and later, we were able to put all of their names on it. The day ended with a recycling discussion and story time.

Although a huge thunderstorm blew through, some of the kids were able to make it to the swimming and cookout that afternoon. All in all, it was a wonderful week.
