The basic organizational structure of the fellowship is based on small groups of people who take on a specific task necessary to keep the fellowship operating. We warmly welcome any friend or member to match up their interests and join a committee. Our committees cover a wide range of areas, and its one of the best ways to really get to know a group of people within the congregation. Please click on the tab to explore our individual committee pages, each containing information about the committee, meeting times (if set) and a current list of committee members. Note: In order to be a member of an elected committee (Executive, COM, Endowment Fund), you must be considering a voting member according to the by-laws. AKA "the board (of trustees)" this committee handles the day to day business of running the fellowship. Members of this committee are elected to three year terms at the annual meeting held in March. This committee is charged with evaluating ministry within the congregation. This includes the on-going evaluation of our professional minister, as well as evaluating how well the congregation ministers to itself and the community. Members of this committee are elected to three year terms at the annual meeting held in March. Members of this committee must also be voting members of the fellowship. Committee Members (dates indicate year term ends, June 30): Roberta Roberson (2009) This committee is charged with managing and growing the fellowship's endowment fund. Members of this committee are elected to three year terms at the annual meeting held in March. Members of this committee must also be voting members of the fellowship. If you are interested in contributing to the fellowship's endowment fund, please contact a member of the endowment fund committee or the executive committee. Meeting Times: Committee Members (dates indicate year term ends, June 30): Don Coble (2009) This committee spearheaded the Athens Community Compost project and are dedicated to making our congregation more environmentally friendly. They handle the recycling and do work around the building and grounds.
This committee is charged with the financial and physical resources of the congregation. They address building issues, as well as plan and run the annual pledge drive. Committee Members: Vivian Dunbar Everyone is welcome to join our meetings or just send in your two cents worth of ideas to the membership committee. Our whole reason for being is to make people feel welcome at the Fellowship. We are the greeters, sender of cards, we put try to recruit volunteers for Snacks and Clean-up on Sundays, and we help organize fun events. We also put together the Caring Column for the monthly newsletter. Membership Meeting Time: Committee Members: Sara Foster This committee puts together and leads our Sunday morning services.
